I know Neil and maybe a few others have used hardware accelerated encryption cards like this one from Soekris <http://www.soekris.com/vpn1401.htm>. It turns out the latest 2.6.25 kernel now supports that card natively. Although I don't see any reason to change away from m0n0wall, it does open up some interesting possibilities for projects like OpenWRT <http://www.openwrt.org> on home routers with mini-PCI slots like the WGT634U from Netgear or the first generation WRT54G. The Soekris board is also available as a regular PCI card for use in a standard PC.
