Is anyone familiar with the Always-On Learning Initiative that puts Linux laptops in the hands of 100 000 San Diego students, grades 3-12? I just read about it in Linux Journal July 2008, and found other information on the web.
I've been in contact with Jordan Zebor of the San Diego Unified School District. They have a Linux program and it might be the laptops you are talking about. I have been trying to arrange a lunch meeting or something with him but so far it hasn't worked out. I have offered my assistance and the help of KPLUG but they haven't taken us up on it.
