Wow! It just suddenly got easy toward the end. I have MythDora 5.0 (Myth 0.21) running with three capture cards. lirc is working for the first time in months supplementing the small keyboard (which is nice sometimes but a pain from across the room).
My take home is: - don't get too clever. Let the packagers do the hard work. - be methodical - bask in the reflected glory in front of your family (you'd think I had written Myth myself[0] ;) Is it just me or is 0.21 _much_ faster? I even had the Padre game running on my laptop over wireless w/o jerking, unheard of before on 0.20. Anyway, for those of you looking for a package, MythDora has been very very good for me. Now, of course, we need a couple of weeks to build up some recordings: Jon Stewart, The Newshour, Futurama and the Simpsons, and lots of <gag> Scoobey Doo. After Netflix, Myth is my favorite AV thing. Thanks to all who held my hand, this time and in the past.
