Well, maybe. Firefox-3.0.1 has just come to Fedora 9. Along with 13
other things. When I try to update all but firefox, I get the
interesting message:
- - - - - - - -
Transaction Check Error:
package xulrunner-1.9-1.fc9.x86_64 (which is newer than
xulrunner-1.9-0.60.beta5.fc9.i386) is already installed

Looking around to see what is installed:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] yum]$ grep xulrunner /var/log/rpmpkgs
xulrunner-1.9-1.fc9.x86_64.rpm

Looking around to see what is available:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] yum]$ yum list xulrunner
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit
Installed Packages

Available Packages
xulrunner.x86_64 1.9.0.1-1.fc9 updates

[EMAIL PROTECTED] yum]$ sudo yum update xulrunner

Wants to install some 71 i386 packages, including:

 xulrunner i386 1.9-0.60.beta5.fc9 fedora 8.9 M

This is using a desktop-oriented package on a desktop computer. :-)

Just tried one at a time updating things. The packages with problems are::
devhelp
firefox
xulrunner
yelp

Each of them wants to bring in a set of 71 i386 packages. I said No.
