I have something I have been using for such needs with good results. Cloud white Fluid is the name of a package of white ink and pen+nib that I bought (I think) at a hobby shop or artist-supply place. It is more of a paint than ink. For example, I paint numbers 1,2,3 on my camera batteries, so that I can rotate them in sequence to achieve wear leveling.
