This month's meeting of the San Diego Tcl/Tk UG will feature a Tcl/Tk tutorial presented by me, Lan Barnes. Tcl is a scripting language with great simplicity, expressiveness, and power. It is particularly suited to incorporating C/C++ and Asm routines as new commands in the language. The Tcl GUI toolkit known as Tk has become the standard for all scripted GUI development. While it would be impossible to cover all aspects of Tcl/Tk in one meeting, the goal of reviewing basic Tcl syntax and of basic GUI development from widgets in Tk is realizable. I'll also discuss Tcl books and resources, especially Tcl on Microsoft. SDTUG meets the third Thursday of each month in the Mission Valley office of the UCSD Extension (see map) from 7 to 9 PM.
