Which is to say, arguing that a pipe doesn't meet the definition of a
file system when you're discussing what features are appropriate for a
file system is kind of strange. It's like saying "Versioning isn't
part of a file system - it belongs in a revision control system."
Okay, how about: "for something to be a filesystem, it must contain more
than one file". ;-)
Ergo: a pipe is not a filesystem. You might access a pipe *through* a
filesystem, but that is another matter entirely.
