Jim Sack's presentation last night gave me some incentive to start
looking at some more Unicode and UTF-8 implementation issues for some
stuff that I have. In looking around I also found some interesting
articles. One is a brief history of how UTF-8 came to be. See here
<http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/utf-8-history.txt>. What's amazing
is how quickly these guys were able to work, converting an entire OS
(Plan 9) to using Unicode/UTF-8 in few days.
