Sorry to be so slow in responding. If there's still interest, I can
confirm the following install from rpms on my F7 and work: guile, gauche
(gosh) and plt-scheme (drscheme, yuck I hate those "dr" names -- but
it does work well, has both edit and interpret window).

I couldn't get mit-scheme installed or to even compile on an x86-64, but
apt-get install mit-scheme works on a u704 (32bit). It seems to enjoy
being shutdown ("Happy Happy Joy Joy.")
