I just borrowed a copy of Little Schemer to see what all the fuss was about and
I don't get this book at first glance.
There is hardly any discussion but rather just a million mini-questions.
Yes. It is a "learning by doing" book. If you want discussion, it is
not the book for you.
Is this the same book everyone says is so great? I haven't had
the "wow" moment yet.
A) You may be past its level. The Little Schemer is geared toward
beginners.
However, chapters 9 and 10 will make you think even if you really know
whats going on (this is the lead-in to the Y-combinator stuff).
B) "Learning by doing" without explanation doesn't appeal to you.
Not everybody learns the same way. This may simply be a style mismatch.
