For the record, I wasn't objecting to Google making up their own library. (It's what they do for a living, after all.) Nor was I against them releasing it. I just dread all the people who see "Cool, google, let's do that" and start using it in addition to all the rest of the stuff that's already out there that does essentially the same job. I don't want to have to start writing libraries to deal with Google-internal file formats just because I use a programming language Google doesn't. :-)
