Hello all: While running KDE 3.0.0 desktop, I select kppp to do the online modem dialup for a ppp connection. All goes well and good, as a screen pops up, asking for a password for root permission. If the password is okay, kppp does the dialing and everything continues on fine.
I'd like the same scenario to happen for ethereal. While I can start it in user mode, it will NOT analyze my point-to-point connection. Only if I start it in root mode, will it then analyze the point to point connection, but this has to be done manually, doing a "sudo" command first. Is there a way of getting a helper windows gui that works exactly the same as the pop-up for kppp? Thanks, if you know how to enable this in KDE desktop.
