There is no one specific person, per se, but I am one of the people that can Make That Happen. > I was wondering if there's a possiblity of placing a tag in the subject > line (like most lists) so that the messages can be readily seen when > checking out the Spam folder? So far, we have not done that on any of our lists. Mostly historical precedent, I think. I am not terribly averse to putting a tag in the subject line for the -newbie list. Most decent mail clients can filter on an arbitrary header, and this list has one that can be filtered on: List-Id: Friendly list for people new to Linux <kplug-newbie.kernel-panic.org> If your mail client can filter on that header, then no -newbie messages will ever make it into your spam folder. If your client cannot do that, then yes, the [KPLUG-newbie] tag in the Subject: makes a very nice visual clue. In summary, I am not averse to the tag, but I see no pressing need to add one. I prefer to help people use the tools they have, as the tools can also help with other non-list issues (like those emails from grandma, that have no subject line at all!) -john -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-newbie
