You may need to set the default gateway. Run:

   /sbin/route -n

Look for a flag "UG". If you don't see that, that's your problem. "man
route" will tell you how to set it. If you're running the GUI,
desktop/settings/network will let you set it (you need the root passwd).
The IP address should be your router.
