Hi,
I want to get off Windows.
I am looking to buy a pc and use Linux. do you have any specs for a
basic pc without an OS that I can then install Linux on.
I am looking for a list of components that work well with Linux.
ex:
Pentium 4, HT
chipset: 915G
video card: NVIDIA 7600

I use DSL and really only use my home pc as a way out to the internet.
Is this info available somewhere? Or is it as simple as just get a pc
and load fedora?

Get a reasonably modern PC and just load some variety of Linux.
Unless you really want to play with old hardware, don't bother. New
computers are much more capable than the discards of a few years ago,
and amazingly low-priced. One warning: the really low-priced "GC"
specials from Fry's come equipped with not enough RAM. Sometimes as
little as 128M.
