I have been able to successfully copy some video DVDs (educational, fair use purposes ;) using k3b, but I just ran into a problem with one of them. I create the ISO image only when copying so I can burn multiple tests to both DVD-R and DVD+R using growisofs directly. When I run k3b, I get the "Creating DVD Image" dialog box that says:

Checking source media...
Found encrypted DVD.
Writing image file to /mnt/big/dvd/test.iso
Retrieving all CSS keys. This might take a while.
Failed to retrieve all CSS keys.

I find this strange because I'm able to play the DVD just fine with xine and mplayer. I'm using the libdvdcss (version 1.2.9-2) package from freshrpms.net on my Fedora Core 5 system.

I'm digging through the source code of k3b now trying to see what is going on, but in the meantime can someone recommend a simple command line utility to do a copy? I don't want to do any transcoding, just a straight copy. freshmeat.net doesn't seem to return anything simple.
