Gentlemen;
I am not a hacker. I point and click and that is about all I really
know about computers. I have a problem. I have a COMPAQ Presario V3000
with an AMD Sempron mobile (CPU?) and an nVIDIA graphics card. I am
using UBUNTU 8.04 the /Hardy Heron. /I have two problems.
1. When I click on quit, it takes about 1.5 minutes for the screen
to come up and the restart and hibernate icons are not present.
2. When I click on a menu item, in any application, the drop down
sub menu looks like it is printed on a clear plastic sheet and back
ground comes through and I can't read the menu items. Some times the
top menu bar is also clear and has a rainbow of lined running
horizontally through it.
These problems did not show up until I upgraded to the /Hardy
Heron/. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you.
