Michael,

Here are the results

tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:21 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 6484/vsftpd

then the next step (for me) is old fashioned FTP debugging....

telnet localhost 21
USER <username>
PASS <password>
QUIT

I have pure-ftpd & vsftpd installed
When I try with an FTP client to log into the server on port:21 the connection is being refused Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Are they running ?
Are they listening on port 21 ?

/bin/netstat -pant | grep -w 21
