With distributions getting larger and larger (Fedora Core 3 with rescue CD is 5 CDs now), I propose spending club $ on a standalone hardware CD and possibly DVD copier.
I've done some research in the past for work on this, and they're fairly expensive, but I think a good investment for the club's treasury (about $3,000 right now, as I recall). I think we can get a quality one for under $1,000, perhaps much less since it was a year ago I was looking at them.
What do you all think?
I like the idea. For a pricing idea, here are some at Newegg: http://tinyurl.com/6js5b
Should *definitely* get a DVD-capable one, since distros are quickly heading that way. Looks like $360 for a 1 -> 1 model, and $650 for a 1 -> 2 model. I cannot speak to the quality of Dupsonic's products, but the Pioneer DVD burners they use inside are top notch.
