I have, through a series of bad breaks and misunderstandings, been elected to the board of the San Diego Computer Society. It's a tumultuous time for the SDCS, with existential questions of what we exist for popping up all the time. I hope to influence the board to actively encourage the formation of more SIGs, including language-specific SIGs. So maybe I'll set an example and try to get a local Tcl/Tk group going.
