I'd like to propose to summarize main points of Lessig's "Free Culture" book in an upcoming KPLUG meeting sometime.
Lessig's main point is that we are losing artistic freedoms that have been a part of US for 180+ years. In order for big media to protect themselves from something new (Internet), we are losing something very old (artistic freedom from state and private control). Lessig's warning includes interesting history of *piracy* and *intellectual property* regarding other technologies. When you hear his points you may have a new enlightened view of current IP wars that is vastly different than biased version presented by big media. Do you think people would be interested?
