Neil and I were chatting on IRC today, and he came up with a pretty good idea:
Have a meeting where we talk about some local luminaries that have helped to shape the internet as we know it today, and perhaps have them say something about their contributions. I know of two names: Phil Karn (RFC2521 ICMP Security Failures Messages) Brian Kantor (RFC977 Network News Transfer Protocol) Does anybody know anyone else? Don't be ashamed to self-nominate! I would nominate myself for my contributions to the Debian installer, but that is not really shaping the internet as a whole. There is also the fact that some people think that the Debian installer is still crap, so my contributions would not be thought of too highly ;) -john -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-steer
