Since I am pretty much the only moderator who occasionally logs in and approves things (usually only when a post of mine gets held up for some reason) and I too am tired of filtering through the spam I have taken the liberty of configuring our lists to reject postings from non-subscribers as was discussed a while back. I think that is the best option since people will be wondering why a week or more has passed and their posting has not been approved and nobody has much interest (myself included) in approving postings anyway.
