I couldn't find where you download the distribution. Apparently it's
designed around Ubuntu Server. There are supposed to be ISO images of
Freedomtoaster, but it's not obvious from the site where to download
them.
First you download the instructions, then inside of that is a pointer
to the download site. But the documentation has not been updated in a
year or so, nor has the script that is supposed to do the
installation. It looked to me like you started with a Ubuntu
installation, and then ran their script to put more things on top of
it.
There may be some more stuff that is hidden away. Not very helpful.
