What are the issues we'll have to contend with? Will things we run like apache, php, zope, plone, spamassassin, postfix and mailman all have 64 bit versions or 32 bit versions that run on a 64 bit OS?
64 bit OS will run 32 bit apps with no complaint at all. Some, such as Apache and Postfix, may also be available built in 64-bit clothing. The biggest compatibility issue comes with drivers, but since the system in question should be fully supported by OSS drivers in the kernel, that should not be an issue.
