A quick update so you can answer questions if asked tonight. My new
hardware vendor has been lagging on getting my account setup so I can
check availability on the hotswap SATA 1U chassis. I have been
lagging on followup due to being busy and unfortunately headed out of
town today.
The cost should be as was previously determined, plus ~$100-200 for
substitution of the hotswap chassis. I will be returning to town on
Monday, and if I have either 1) not gotten the account information I
need; or 2) gotten access but determined that availability of the
hotswap chassis is still nonexistent, then I will place the order
with the fixed drive chassis. If a hotswap chassis miraculously
makes itself available, then I will order it. So either way, order
will go in early next week, which means that Sparky III should be
built and powered by the week of March 18th.
Giving a bit of time to lay down the OS(es) as we choose and migrate
Zope, perhaps we can aim for a launch date of 4/1/07? Hey, Google
can launch products on April Fools, why not KPLUG? :)
