It would avoid the need for a separate offline-bookmark-transmission protocol, but it wouldn't improve the UI --- I'd still be using a bookmarklet to make text that I copied and pasted into Emacs, and then posted with that LWP script. A browser extension and an offline web server could make the workflow a lot quicker, though.
