Et al,
I've read with interest about crankshaft failures, particularly those
encountered by Mark Langford and his detailed post-mortem analyses. ?It seem
like the up shot is that the crank radius on the journals is very critical, so
precise machining is critical, as well as quality nitriding. ?My question is if
there any opinions/analyses regarding:
1. Using the Meta Lax stress reduction process (low-frequency vibratory
process) on cranks;
2. ?Having cranks cryogenically treated.
I'd appreciate any feedback on these topics that members have to offer.
Thanks,
Gary Payne
