I'm on a road trip to Great Lakes Naval Station, and brought along something to read to kill the down time. I brought Tony Bingelis' books "Sportplane Builder" and "Sportplane Contruction Techniques", both of which I read 20 years ago and have referred to over the years, but not since I finished my plane. But starting at the front and reading from one end to the other (I'm only halfway through) has been a great reminder of the wealth of information, not to mention good humor, included in these great works. If you've never seen them, you really need to order them from the EAA. They will save you at least tens time the cost and time you'd have wasted reinventing the wheel, and you still likely won't have done it as smart as Tony shows you how to do it. EAA sells all four of his books for $90, or you can get them individually if you're on a budget, but they will cost you a lot more in the long run. I'd start with "Sportplane Builder", then "Sportplane Construction Techniques". See http://www.shopeaa.com/bingelissetof4.aspx ...
