Dan and netters

Opinions are good, but when it come to a product, people's opinions can change
someone choice. I work for a company that started out as a builder assist
company for Glasairs. Glasairs are made of VE, our new owner has worked for
the company for 15 years, and he hates VE. I have and old KR and used VE a
little rebuilding it. I really grew up using VE, due to my dad using it for
his projects. I work mostly with Epoxy now, but if we have a project at work
that is VE I get it. My recent history with VE would freak most people on this
net out. I have layed up parts in a mold that would use 7 gallons of VE and we
would do it all in 2 hours. I disagree with the statement that VE has a film.
The reason you can't lay Polyester resin ie VE over Epoxy is the wax that comes
to the surface. Epoxy can be put over Epoxy without any prep within 24 hours.
With VE you need to scuff the surface. Peel ply is a different story. Health
wise Epoxy is worse for you. Lungs, touch etc. it all comes down to
personal preference, are Fords better than Toyota?
