O.K. gang, just 36 more days so let's start getting excited about the Gathering. Pre-registration and net chatter is running rather light this year. This will be my 23 consecutive Gathering and I've been a bit slow in getting organized this year but I'm about to kick in high gear to make it all happen. I still have some personal events to plan and execute before the Gathering but things will get done.
Here is what we need to have happen in the next 36 days: If you want a hat or shirt, make sure you register and order in the next two weeks ( Sept. 15 cut off ) or contact me off net at flesner at frontier.com I need two or three individuals to judge KR's for our awards I will need some volunteers to set in at the registration table for an hour or two on Friday and Saturday. The registration table , with hat and shirt sales, is the biggest manpower need at the Gathering. We will have an engine forum Friday afternoon, a forum Friday evening after dinner on cross country flying (flight planning, weather planning, engine and fuel management, avionics, provisions, etc.), and an airframe forum on Saturday afternoon. Anyone wishing to do a forum or presentation other than these, contact me at flesner at frontier.com and we will schedule it for Friday or Saturday morning. Additional forum or demonstration presenters, other than the Friday and Saturday afternoon and Friday evening forums, will be responsible to bring all necessary materials / information for their event. I'll do what I can locally. Bob Lee, please post this info to the Gathering web page. If you know KR builders / fliers that are not on the net, contact them and make sure they plan to attend and have all the info. Get all your plans in place and look to have a good time again this year with all your friends in the KR building community. Larry Flesner
