Your FAA guy is talking about "certified LSA aircraft", NOT Experimental 
category.? Any Experimental that will meet the LSA requirements can be flown as 
an LSA..? He's talking about aircraft like the Vans RV12 that can be registered 
in the LSA category with NO changes, OR built Experimental with any changes you 
want to make..
?

When I talked to the local faa guy he said that the design has to be
certified as light sport and the plane has to be built exactly to plans...I
don't think any would meet those restrictions.
