I was thinking about this yesterday. If I had a plane that had removable or "fold in" wings, where would I go to fly it and how time consuming would it be to go flying for an hour or two? Around here, we have Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Columbia Downtown Airport, Lexington County Airport, and a couple of private strips. A bit farther out there is Fairfield County and Camden.
All of these but the private airports, are fenced in. You have to have arranged access. You would never get it for Columbia Metropolitan, Columbia Downtown may give it to you for a fee, and I am not sure what you would have to do to get access to the county airports. Is it worth it, to go flying for an hour or two? It is time consuming enough when you have your plane at the airport, waiting for you. See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on the pics?
