I put both compass and AHRS right under where the passenger's butt would be, at the point where the floor is almost perfectly level (slight shim required, but absolute minimal mounting provisions other than some small, thin strips of 3/32" mahogany left over from the fuselage, with some #4 screws glued heads down into a recess in the bottom of the plywood.
