I thing Mark flies out of M38 (Hazel Green) which is 2600 hard 
surface.  He did once fly out of Moon Town but that was long ago.

If you are looking to fly out of 2000 foot turf you'll definitely 
want some type of deployable drag, i.e., speed brake or effective 
flaps.  What do you expect the empty weight of your KR to be and what 
engine are you using?  Nice looking residential air park where you 
live.  2000 feet, no obstructions, near sea level, should be a piece of cake.
