Has flown 350hours on a 1835vw by the original builder/Pilot. I believe the
logs say fall of 1985 was first flight
Until she tried out the engine with a serious oil leak. Yes she still had a
Safe landing
She played Hanger queen with the next two owners
I took her on as project with only 10% left to return to the air; you know the
rest of the story.
I'm out of funds and lack the time.
She flew all her hours on the origin retract landing gear. The owner and
builder has something like 15000hours of flying and said it always wanted to
nose over on grass or runway with water or snow.
So with my limited 150hours and 10 of which are tail time I figured I best
give myself a fighting chance and remove the old gear and go to fixed gear.
This is one of two reasons I'm stalled and in a downward spiral.
The second reason is I have a 1835VW complete firewall forward setup (not the
one with the oil leak). After listening again to too many type A
pilots/builders I dissembled the engine for full rebuild.
Like all good plane projects I have a lot of money tied up in it. Some $6000
If someone makes me a fair offer I will let her go.
Plan B - Offer- If the right person came along and wanted to finish the bird
and share it with me in a partnership we might have something to talk about.
I also have a Continental A65 full firewall forward setup for sale or some Plan
B offer of partnership on a Plane that needs an engine.
