Tractor Carbs
This is a subject that as I get closer to finishing BOTH my airframe
and Corvair (yes Corvair and IFR). Yes I said FINISHING. I keep
looking at the pile of multiple MA-3SPA carbs I have been collecting
since I started my project 10 years ago.
I believe that I saw a post several years ago about using a rebuild
kit for a tractor to rebuild the MA-3SPA and I am wondering if anyone
has done that and if so what tractor carb or they bought the kit for
or if you have a part number.
There are several sources for tractor carb rebuild kits and many of
the carbs look ALMOST like the basic MA-3SPA. I even spent a very
unusual afternoon sitting on a bucket in front of a rebuild kit
display with carb pieces in hand at Tractor Supply Store but failed to
find what I was looking for.
Five hundred plus to rebuild a basic float carburetor just doesn?t
sit well with me.
PS don't forget to review ADs regarding some of the old "carbs you
may find on EBay.
Keep building since I got serious about finishing my project I have
made more progress in 18 months then I had made in the previous 8
years.
