In the old KR1 cutaway, it seems to show channel iron with rubber mounts
against the firewall, and the back of the VW is mounted to that. Now it seems
more traditional mounts are in use. I vaguely recall from 25 years ago reading
that there was a reason for getting off that, but I don't recall what it is.
Anyone have any info on that?
