Hi all, I built my Kr2 to plans. no stretches or mods. It has neutral trim with the C of G at 4 inches aft of the forward limit. Either side of that due to fuel burn or loading requires trim, but even on both limits I can trim my plane out with a simple spring balance mechanism I have on the control column, not wanting to complicate the back end with awkward trim cables and the like. Trim tabs have been known to flutter and they are not balanced normally, so i didn't want to fit one. I carry a balance weight, that when duel, goes behind the passengers back and when solo I put it on the rear parcel shelf. I get about 8 knots more when flying on the aft C of G, so forward of that the tailplane must be pushing down quite hard. The Uk authorities limit the C of G range to just 6 inches loosing the rear 2 inches. This I think is about right because at 6 inches my aircraft becomes neutrally stable. Remember this is food for thought. Have you ever seen two Kr2's the same. Each is different. Just telling you about mine... Absorb and make your own decisions. Colin H.
