Both are Scotch (3M) products and I agree - it's the good stuff.  I've
bought rolls of wide 3M vinyl 33 tape and use it for covering splits on
my motorcycle seat and as seam covers on the plane - much as you'll find
with sailplane users.  I cover hinge brackets on the elevator with it and
cowling seams.  Sailplane accessory supply places are good places to find
high quality vinyl tapes.  For some really unusual tape for certain
applications you can find foot-wide rolls of high-quality silver duct
tape sold under the name "Big Fix".  Home Depot used to have it and may
still but you can also find it on line.
