My thoughts exactly Mark.

FWIW, I just got a new Yaesu FTA-750 handheld as a backup.  For those
looking to fly with only a handheld it is a really good option since it
has VOR and localizer built in and even glideslope and GPS.  The only
two handhelds that have full ILS with glideslope now are the Yaesu and
the Sportys.  The Sportys cost is just a little bit less, but that is
the base radio with alkaline battery tray and no other accessories.  The
Yaesu comes with rechargable battery, charger, alkaline battery tray,
headset adapter, belt clip, cigarette lighter adapter, etc.  Sportys
gets expensive when you start adding the options.
