In the

you can see the forward half of the cables as they pass through the 
cockpit.  The next fare lead is vertical of the rear spar or an inch 
or two to the rear.  I cut nyla-flo brake tubing and slipped it over 
the cable between the fare leads.  If you cut the tubing with a razor 
it tends to make a spiral cut which works great to keep the tubing on 
the cable.  The tubing is larger than the hole in the fare lead so it 
stays in place. 500+ hours and I've never felt the cable during 
flight or ground handling.  Keep it simple.
