Dan, The PTT switch simply supplies a path to ground the keyline to tell the radio to transmit. Your stick grip will have two pins on the PTT switch. One side goes to ground. The other goes to the same point as what you referred to as the Keyline (pin 9). Running the Keyline to your headset plug is optional. You would only use it if you bought an in line PTT to use as a backup to the PTT on your stick. I don't think I installed the Keyline to my headset plugs, since I never carry a PTT switch with me.
I'm currently installing a pair of teak stick grips with electric trim and PTT in my SuperCub and have a home made version of the same in my KR. -Jeff Scott Los Alamos, NM > Sent: Tuesday, July 07, 2015 at 10:15 PM > From: "Dan via KRnet" <krnet at list.krnet.org> > To: 'KRnet' <krnet at list.krnet.org> > Cc: Dan <dprich01 at comcast.net> > Subject: KR> Mic & Headset Wiring - Help > > Trying to finish up the panel wiring I'm a little stumped on the Mic > portion. I have a Collins VHF 251 installed. Pin 5 - mic, pin 6 - audio > gnd & pin 9 - Keyline. I have a RAC G205 grip with a white for the PTT. > Not sure how all this hooks up.
