I'm not trying to be helpful with this suggestion, but every time I walk a beach in the inland waters of B.C. I search for driftwood spruce. It's there, along with ancient cedar and fir. I've thought of tying a log or two to the back of my boat and towing it home to my island to cut on my own mill. The recent heavy rains have brought down some riverside cedar, and there are three on my beach this afternoon that I need to corral on the high tides. Peter
