I found an interesting publications regarding easy reinforcement of wood boards
used in bolted joints:
http://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/documnts/fplrp/fplrp562.pdf
http://timber.ce.wsu.edu/Resources/papers/P12.pdf
This
method seems really easy to apply in the KR WAF's bolted joints - just
add 2 layers of 6 oz/yd? of BID fiberglass cloth on the spars beneath
the WAF's and you get much higher bearing strength of the bolted joints,
for a very slight increase of the weight... It shall also help to fix
issues with unsatisfactory drilling of one or two WAF bolt holes in the
spar flanges.
