what's the issue with stock KR tubular rudder pedals?

The stock pedals are thin wall tubing. I can not remember the exact
thickness. Some KR pilots have experienced failure in the corner welds from
stress over a period of time. If one is excessively hard on the pedals when
braking, taxiing, etc. then they could possibly be overstressed. I fly with
a stock set and have 529.3 hours on them without any issues. I do inspect
them regularly. If you are concerned then some simple weld braces will beef
them up or take them to a fab shop and have some fabricated with a thicker
wall tube.
