They can if you change the caliper o-rings to something like EPDM, which 
is compatible with DOT3.  They come with o-rings compatible with 
aircraft hydraulic oil.  It's a pretty simple matter to replace the 
o-rings, which are a standard size and encircle each caliper.

and you'll find several options that will work.
