just
right?"

Mine is a KR-1? and the KR-2 I owned was so long ago I wouldn't want to
give a rudder evaluation at this late date. In thinking about it a bit I
remember landing with some hellacious crosswinds, one time landing
mid-afternoon at Hesperia to see Joe Horvath, so I think the
standard-sized rudder on a standard KR-2 (which is what I had) is plenty
good.

As for my KR-1?, it's got Diehl tailfeathers and Diehl wingskins. I
don't know if DD made any improvements on the plans-built dimensions -
but others would know I'm sure. I can say without a moment's hesitation
that I've never wished for more rudder than what I've got. I don't know
enough about KR aerodynamics to offer an opinion on putting a larger
rudder on - unless it's a weight concern I don't think you can ever have
"too much" rudder. The one I've got (Diehl) has easily handled
everything thrown at it in the ten years I've owned it.
