For the complete story on converting auto engines for aircraft use, refer to Richard Finch's book: "Converting Auto Engines for Experimental Aircaraft". However, I can abbreviate the book by saying that you have to adapt/build an engine mount, cooling, fuel sytem, electrical system and prop hub. Also, William Wyne publishes a manual on how to convert a Corvair engine for use in airplanes. They are probably the best/easiest to use in a KR.
