You can taper it now, but it'll have to be by eyeball. You can put a pencil line the whole length both front and back, top and bottom, and sand until all the wood between the front lines and aft lines is gone. That'll get it close. I did my vertical stab post with a belt sander that way, and nobody's remarked how hideous it is yet. > Also Mark how did you get your elevator to be smaller but with a bigger HS area. I slid the airfoil forward on the spars, which yielded a smaller elevator, and a larger horizontal stab. I think the templates that I published were done that way (since they're mine), but I wouldn't swear to it. Measure them and compare them to the plans and you'll know...
